Profile
An anthropologist and mythologist, Assoc. Prof. Ishikura has been a researcher in the Institut pour la Science Sauvage of Meiji University from 2011, and has taught previously at the Institute for Art Anthropology of Tama Art University. Since 1997 he has been conducting research on “mountain god” mythologies in Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kathmandu, as well as various locations in Northeast Japan. He has also published various mythographies and essays based on his studies of art anthropology and comparative mythologies of the Pacific Rim.
