Short-term student exchange, Malmstens Linköping University (Sweden) | The Creative Manufacturing Design department hosted a 3rd year student from the Cabinetmaking program of Malmstens Linköping University, which became an official exchange partner of AUA in December 2018. During this 2-week program, the student experienced various forms of traditional Japanese craftsmanship while practicing techniques in joinery, urushi and metalworking. Following the program at AUA, the student also participated in two 1-week internships at local carpentry and lumber companies in Akita Prefecture. |
